Spiral is an exercise in using shapes in pattern making. This dress is essentially just a large circle cut into a spiral in pattern paper. The spiral was then sewn together using a separate strip of alternating color ruffles to connect/extend from the original circle. The ruffles were made to lay and stand in certain areas by sewing tacs. Snaps and a zipper were added to the sides to shape the spiral to a dress form.

The dress is made from black and white cotton fabric.
