These are various projects and experiments that focus on embellishing, dyeing, and manipulating fabric.

A hand embroidered and beaded three-sided bag based on Victorian reticules and Victorian embroidery.

The pattern for the shape of the bag was taken from an American Girl magazine from 1865, which was then slightly modified. The embroidery designs are from Victorian embroidery designs and prints. The pattern was cut in a thick, shiny fabric, and the embroidery designs were sketched onto the fabric. Red embroidery thread was used to fill in the sketches, and red beading was added as an accent. The three pieces were then embroidered with small white beads to fill in the remaining space. A lining was made and the panels were all sewn together, with a long, clear bead trim added to the bottom. A red ribbon is employed as a closure for the bag.

Three bags that were dyed, embroidered, and beaded by hand. The embroidery on the bags is inspired by Lacoste, France—they were made during a study abroad trip there.

The cotton fabric was hand dyed in an indigo bath, and then embroidered. Metallic gold / silver thread and a variety of beads were used to embellish the surface of the fabric, and then a lace ribbon was employed as a closure for the bags.
